Why Work From Home?
A new home-based business is started every 10 seconds in the United States. The following statistics may help you understand the current job market and why thousands of people are opening home based businesses to secure their financial futures. Layoffs are happening in both small and large companies. Job security seems to be a thing of the past. Companies today have to worry about the bottom line, productivity, and keeping up with technology. People are replaced by new technologies and by other people who are willing to earn less money for the same job, without much concern.
Employment declined in December 2002, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.0 percent. Payroll employment fell by 101,000, following a decline of 88,000 in November. In December, job losses continued in manufacturing; employment also fell in retail trade and transportation. Employers initiated 2,150 mass layoff actions in November 2002 and the number of workers involved totaled 240,028. From January through November 2002, the total number of mass layoff events were 17,799, and initial claims involved 1,980,856 workers as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor. What ever happened to job security? Many people who have jobs still struggle to pay their bills. Wages have not gone up significantly in the last decade. However, prices for groceries, gas, automobiles, etc. have gone up considerably.
How many jobs do you need to pay your bills? Many people who start this opportunity already work one, two, or three jobs. They have finally realized they must do something different to earn the money they desire to live comfortably. Today, the cost to live comfortably requires millions of people to have to work more than one job. Over a million others file bankruptcy because they cannot meet their bills.
Some disturbing data, did you know?
- In December of 2002, 7.6 million persons held more than one job. U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics
- The minimum wage, adjusted for inflation, has declined from more than $6 an hour in the 1960's to $5.25 today. New York Times
- A record 1,492,129, almost 1.5 million, Americans filed for bankruptcy in 2001. ABI - American Bankruptcy Institute
- In 2000, the Bureau of Labor statistics declared that a family of four that falls below $17,062 in annual income falls into poverty. The Census Bureau says 10% of the families living in the United States live in poverty.
- 6 out of 10 working mothers want part-time employment, flex time or a stay at home job.
- Taxes, taxes and more taxes from federal to state to sales to social security to real estate and all the other taxes. Average Americans today work a job from January to mid May and even some up to six months for the government before they make enough to cover their taxes.
- Most people end up working hard all their lives at a job just for the owners of their company, for the government paying taxes, and for the bank paying off a mortgage and credit cards This is the "Rat Race" and they don't know how to get out of it.
- Many senior citizens need financial assistance just to survive; at retirement they're practically broke.
- A lot of working folks have less money in the bank now than they had at high school graduation.

Many American men work hard all their lives toward retirement ... and die within 2 years of retiring!
As adults we all make choices that affect our future. Our choices can lead us from struggling to just get by ... to living a successful life that includes freedom, options, and incredible lifestyle. J. Paul Getty, in his book, How To Get Rich, states his first rule of success is, "You must be in business for yourself, you'll never get rich working for someone else." When you build a successful business, you can earn more money, plus items that you can write-off, like: car, travel, phone, office equipment, etc. The home business is the next economic revolution! |

Why Network Marketing/ Direct Sales?
Simply, network marketing/ direct sales is a distribution system, or form of marketing, which channels goods or services from the manufacturer to the consumer through a "network" of independent distributors or consultants. It's a wonderfully effective system that cuts out the "middleman" found in most industries. Being involved in Network Marketing/ Direct Sales Marketing allows you to run your own profitable home-based business with virtually no overhead, no employees, no major financial investment or stress. It's amazing!
Did you know?
- A new home-based business is started every 60 seconds in the United States.
- The average salary of a home-based business is $50,250.
- By the end of 2003 the National Association of Chambers of Commerce estimates that there will be over 80 million Home Based Businesses.
- 97% of Americans wish they had a home based business.
- Having your own home-based business allows you to take advantage of tax savings offered to small businesses.
- Over $26 Billion in goods are sold in the united States through this method.
- In Network Marketing/ Direct Sales Marketing you can work at your own pace, choose your own hours to achieve the rewards YOU are looking for.
- An estimated 12 million people are in North America are involved in the Network Marketing/ Direct Sales Marketing Industry and more than 30 million worldwide!
- Most are women (73%) although nearly a third are men or couples.
October 31, 2002: According to news-press.com, home shopping is no longer a cottage industry, earning $26.7 billion last year with 12.2 million individuals participating. The industry, which has been growing at the rate of 5 percent a year for the past five years, includes big names such as Amway, Avon and Mary Kay. Even recession doesn’t hurt direct sell, because many people are looking for additional sources of income.
Traditional marketing moves products from the manufacturer to wholesalers, warehousers, shippers, advertisers and retailers before ever reaching the consumer. In network marketing/ direct sales, all of these "middlemen," including the advertisers, are replaced with independent distributors who distribute the same products throughout their own network of consumers. This way, the large profit that would normally go to the wholesalers, warehousers, shippers, advertisers and retailers goes to the independent distributors and those who help train them. The profit in network marketing/ direct sales go directly to the people who make it happen! YOU!!
Leading traditional retailers are known to spend 25-30% of every sales dollar on advertising, media and other promotions, while network marketing/ direct sales uses those same dollars to reward individuals for "word-of-mouth" promotion. Because network marketing relies on developing and keeping trusted relationships, the product quality and service is often much higher than standard retail brands. After all, if you are going to personally recommend a product to a friend, you have to believe in it!

Why the Beauty Industry?
The Demand of the aging Baby Boomers! We know the baby boomers which are 1/3 of the population, that now control two thirds of the spending money, are anxious about anti-aging, looking younger and their health. They are also concerned about their retirement years and financial security. Despite the great leap forward made by the women's movement late in the 20th century, the reality is that today there are still comparatively small numbers of women in the top corporate echelons. Sure, a few make headlines, but most women are a long way from achieving equality of opportunity and salary - except in network marketing. That is why in network marketing and especially those in the beauty industry, there are more women working part time earning over $50,000 a year, more six figure income earners and more woman self-made millionaires.

- Recession Proof. Personal care products have proven themselves over time.
- In the U.S., skincare product sales in 2001 were at a record level, with consumers spending more than $270 million on everything from creams to toners.
- Skin care product usage in 2000, experienced a 22% increase over 1990 levels. The category was driven by the ongoing search by aging baby boomers for products that will help them maintain a youthful appearance. Another contributing factor to growth in this category is the large population of teenagers purchasing skin care products for the first time to address their concerns for oil-free skin and pore size. Why the Internet and Mail Order?
The internet is indisputably the fastest growing market for up and coming companies. Every 1.5 seconds someone clicks on to the world wide web for the first time and 60,000 new users join the internet each day. Thirty years ago you did not have the internet to buy from. The majority of women did not work and had time to shop during the day. In today's fast paced world with both people working in the family, a million different activities to cart the children to, who has time to shop??? No one! For the same reasons mail order has been expanding by leaps and bounds in the last decade. The Wall Street Journal estimates the total revenue from mail order businesses at $55-65 billion. The New York Times ran an article upgrading that figure to $140 billion. Ordering through the Internet and by Mail order is expected to double in the next decade!
- 48% of people in Western Europe and 73% of people in the US, have access to the internet. Of those with home access, 6% in Europe and 14% in the US, have ordered and bought products or services online.
- Cumulative online sales for the 2002 holiday season reached $12.6 billion in 2002, according to comScore Networks. This figure is nearly a 30 percent increase over the year before for the period from Nov. 1 through Dec. 20.
