Choose Your Beauty Products Using the Facts Not the Hype!

The first ingredient listed on any product is the largest percent of what that product is made of, in most cases the main ingredient. L'Bri Pure n' Natural uses Aloe Vera Barbadensis as the first ingredient in our skincare formulations. The majority of the skincare products on the market commonly use water as the first ingredient. We choose Aloe Vera Barbadensis as our #1 ingredient because of its unique healing and rejuvenating properties. Our formulations also contain an abundance of vitamins, herbs, selected sea plants and botanicals such as Coneflower, Japanese Green Tea, Passion Flower, and Ginseng just to name a few. |

The Story of Aloe Vera (Barbadensis) |
Keeping your skin beautiful and healthy does not just happen. Skin must be pampered, protected, and preserved through a daily regimen of skin care to achieve and maintain a more youthful, healthier, and lovelier complexion. There are so many skin care products on the market today, with each claiming to "be the best." How can you know which is best for you? We with "L’Bri Pure n' Natural" believe that by understanding how our products work, and by the results you can see for yourself, you will know why our skin care collection sets us apart from the rest.
There are over 200 different species of Aloe. Of the 200+ species of Aloe only four are recognized as being of nutritional value to humans and animals. Aloe Barbadensis Miller (pronounced bar-ba-den-sis) is the top of these four, since it is the most potent and nutritious -- with only mature plants bearing the greatest benefits.
The Aloe Vera Barbadensis gel is well known as a healing agent, for burns, bruises, cuts, abrasions, insect bites, and other damaged skin tissues. Its powers have been recounted for thousands of years. There is historical documentation that shows that Aloe Vera was being used as far back as l,500 BC and it is often referred to as "Nature’s Pharmacy". Legend has it that the Aloe Vera was Cleopatra’s beauty secret. The Bible speaks of aloe in over a dozen passages, referring to it as the "bitter herb," it also tells us of Christ’s body being wrapped in myrrh and Aloe following His crucifixion. The journals of Marco Polo speak of its magical powers and Columbus mentions the mysterious properties of the plant.
Now, we at L’Bri have unlocked the mysteries of the Aloe Vera Plant, and formulated skin care products that not only moisturize, but help heal damaged skin tissue. We want you to understand these mysteries, too. Modern research reveals that one of the plants mysteries is its enhancement of a proteolytic enzyme action in the skin tissue. By helping the natural process of cell division and sloughing off of dead cell tissue, the Aloe in effect rejuvenates and rebuilds new healthy tissue at an accelerated pace -- the same process that gives children that fresh, pink, healthy glow.
Because Aloe is a succulent it helps to maintain the natural moisturizing agents in the skin -- helping retard the natural evaporative process and even drawing moisture from the air around us.
We also know that the Aloe is able to penetrate the outer skin surface -- to take its healing and moisturizing processes deeper within our skin. Its benefits, unlike other ingredients, penetrate and don’t merely "cover-up".
You may have heard that other products have Aloe in them -- when they do it's not the FIRST ingredient. However, the "L’Bri Pure n’ Natural" Skincare collection is formulated to provide the most concentrated and effective use of Aloe now available.
First, our L’Bri collection draws its plants from only the highest grade cultivated in the Rio Grande Valley. The hand-picked leaves are then hand-filleted to ensure that only the purest, innermost gel of the plant is used. Many products on the market will grind or squeeze the plant. Invariably, this results in tainting their gel with aloins -- (a yellowish substance found in Aloe Vera,) which is harmful to skin tissue. The attention we use results in a completely clear gel -- a sure sign of the very highest grade of Aloe gel.
Unlike other products using Aloe, the "L’Bri Pure n’ Natural" Skincare Collection uses a cold stabilization process (the secret of our gel) as opposed to a heat pasteurization process which "cooks-out" most of the Aloe’s natural benefits and healing properties. Through our cold stabilization process, the L’Bri Skincare Collection retains 100% of the plant’s mysterious and wonderful properties. The "pure" gel of the unadulterated Aloe Vera thus forms the base and is the FIRST INGREDIENT in our complete line of Skincare products -- and we refuse, unlike many of the products on the market, to water-down the pure gel or use water as the first ingredient.
At L’Bri, everything we put our name on, is developed within the perfect balance of nature and technology. L’Bri Skincare Collection is as natural as they can be, for being man made. Each product combines effective natural ingredients such as vitamins, fruit acids, alpine herbs, and amino acids, with sound Skincare science, to create formulas that really work -- products which will give you healthier, more youthful and radiant skin.

Aloe and Aging Skin |
When you visit our website, you will see two prunes that tell the story of what happens to the skin when it is treated with heavy oils and/or waxes. The prune in mineral oil looks heavy and wrinkled. (Mineral oil is one of the most widely used ingredient in moisturizers.) The prune in L’Bri’s Aloe Vera Barbadensis looks lighter and plump, almost like a plum again. What these examples so clearly prove is that heavy oils weigh down and suffocate the skin where L’Bri’s Aloe Vera Barbadensis helps restore the skin. Amazing! If you have the chance to meet us in person, ask to actually see the two prunes for yourself.
The skin covers the entire body and reflects the aging process with uncanny accuracy. Aloe Vera has been shown to slow down the aging process through several actions: it is an excellent cleanser, sloughing off old cells and cleaning the pores. It has a detoxifying effect on the skin by removing wastes and toxins, and its vitamins, minerals, and amino acids nourish the skin. Amino acids also stimulate new cell growth.
Studies have shown that Aloe vera’s legendary antiaging properties lie in the plant’s amazing capacity to produce fibroblast cells six to eight times faster than normal cells. These cells manufacture collagen, which keeps skin firm.

Skincare Ingredients to Avoid |
MINERAL OIL A liquid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum, mineral oil can attract dirt and causes blackheads and eruptions. It can accelerate free radical damage, thus speeding up the aging process, because it causes toxins to build up in the skin.
ALL WAXES SUCH AS PARAFFIN, BEESWAX, CANDELILLA WAX, CARNAUBA WAX Waxes are widely used in cleansing creams, eye creams and moisturizers. Waxes clog pores creating blackheads and whiteheads, they also smother the skin which over a period of time creates an enlarged pore problem.
LANOLIN A yellow, semi-solid, fatty secretion from sheep’s wool is widely used in skin and beauty care products. It can cause an allergic reaction in some people, as well as enlarged pores.
PETROLATUM This familiar, semi-solid mixture of hydrocarbons is derived from petroleum. Literally, "paraffin jelly" or "petroleum jelly" -- it is not absorbed by the skin and suffocates the pores. All petrochemicals pollute our water and destroy marine life -- avoiding them is essential for humans, animals, fish, water, land and air.
ACETONE Used in nail polish and nail polish removers, this colorless, volatile liquid is often used in astringents, fresheners or clarifying lotions. It is extremely toxic and will dehydrate the skin while speeding up the aging process.
BORAX (Sodium Borate, Boric acid) Used in baby powders, bath powders, eye creams, skin fresheners, and protective creams as a preservative -- it is rapidly absorbed by the skin. And it is still widely used, despite repeated warnings from the American Medical Association.
ALCOHOLS SUCH AS ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, SD ALCOHOL 40, ETHYL ALCOHOL Alcohols dissolves the body’s own natural moisturizers and strips the skin of its own protection, leaving it vulnerable to infection. Alcohols destroy the skin pH balance and since they absorb water they speed up wrinkling of the skin.
FD&C When this abbreviation precedes the name of a color, it means that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has certified it as safe for use in drugs and cosmetics, but not food. D&C colors are usually synthetic, coal tar colors; they’re toxic and should be avoided when at all possible.

What Makes L'Bri Pure n' Natural Skincare Different? |
There is quite a difference. We use Aloe Vera (Barbadensis) as the first ingredient in all our Skincare formulations while most other skin care formulations use water. Why water? It is more readily available and of course less costly to the company. We encourage you to take a look at and compare other product ingredient listings. We do not use waxes in any of our Skincare formulations. Waxes such as Beeswax, Carnauba Wax, Candela Wax, and Paraffin can clog the pores creating enlarged pores, blackheads, and whiteheads. We also do not use any mineral, petrolatum, or lanolin oil. These are considered "skin suicide" ingredients because over a period of time they can actually dehydrate the skin. L'Bri products are also free of alcohol. Any product that says "keep away from the eye area" should be avoided. Alcohol can cause the "lipids" of the skin to become brittle over a period of time. The lipids actually begin to flatten out causing the skin to lose its contour -- similar to a balloon losing air. Our goal in formulating L'Bri was to create a natural Skincare line using ingredients that would heal and nurture the skin. We use an abundance of herbs, botanicals, and vitamins.
After researching different products for many years, it was interesting to note that many companies claimed that their products were "natural." However, when researching the ingredients, we found that these products contained only a small amount of vitamins and herbs, that were commonly found at the END of the ingredient listing. That means that the amounts were included primarily for what is called "good label copy." Legally, they can say their products contain natural ingredients, but the amount is so small that they do not really benefit the skin. L'Bri products are free of any synthetic fragrances and artificial FD&C dyes. Any coloring we use comes from nature: such as Chlorophyll from plants, beet juice, vitamin B12, etc. What makes L'Bri unique is not only what is in our products, but also what is not. A nickel is too much to spend on a product that contains "fillers:" such as waxes, crude oils, and harsh preservatives "DEA, BHT, and others". Our mission, of course, is to educate consumers on what they use to take care of their skin. Every company says their products are the best, however, by reading ingredient labels you will be able to see for yourself how pure and natural your products really are. After all you deserve the best!
